Homework
We are dedicated to ensuring that our school environment supports students’ achievement and enables our school to be happy, safe and successful. We pride ourselves on having good relationships with parents and students and working together we can achieve this.
The Home/School Partnership Agreement agreement outlines the school’s expectations of parents and students and sets out what we do as a school to ensure that all students are given the best possible chance of a good all-round education, an enjoyable time in a large, diverse school and an understanding of community
Homework is set to be completed outside of the timetabled curriculum. It contains an element of independent study in that it is not usually directly supervised by a teacher.
Not all homework is completed at home; for some students who find it hard to work at home or for some tasks that may require resources (books, software, equipment) more readily available at school, it is necessary or desirable to carry out the task at school. Students have access to the resources and space available in the library in addition to agreed, supervised opportunities to work in curriculum areas.
Homework enhances student learning, improves achievement and develops students' study skills.
The Great Baddow High School Presentation Policy aims to establish high expectations and pride in everything we do – both of ourselves and of the students.
It creates a clear and consistent set of guidelines for the presentation of students’ learning and supports students in establishing good practices that will help them to: organise their work; learn, process and store information, recognise how they are addressing targets and making progress; facilitate revision.
