TEACHER OF DRAMA
Fixed Term Contract for one year from September 2023

Are you passionate about drama and about how to engage young people so they achieve their very best? Do you enjoy working with others to ensure the highest standards of teaching and learning in drama?
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher or one new to the profession to join our highly committed, supportive and experienced drama department. Our Drama department is well resourced, with a large studio and two specialist drama rooms as well as a main hall with stage and lighting and sound equipment. All of our teaching staff are provided with their own laptop.
The successful candidate will want to bring their passion and enthusiasm for drama to encourage, motivate and engage our students from Year 7 to Year 13, and continue to raise standards in this high performing area. We currently teach GCSE Drama and BTEC L3 Acting. A commitment to extra-curricular productions and theatre trips is essential.
Our oversubscribed school again achieved a ‘GOOD’ rating in its Ofsted inspection in June 2022 and we have a commitment to supporting students in developing as well-rounded individuals as well as achieving their academic potential.

KITCHEN/MIDDAY ASSISTANT (16 hours per week & 20 hours per week)
Role 1 is 16 hours per week - Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday 11.30am to 2.30pm & Wednesday 10.30am to 2.30pm - Actual salary £7,290 working term time only plus some inset days
Role 2 is 20 hours per week – Monday to Friday 10.30am to 2.30pm - Actual salary £9,112 working term time only plus some inset days

An opportunity has arisen for a kitchen/midday assistant to join our busy school catering team. Previous experience is not essential as full training will be provided
KITCHEN DUTIES
- all general cleaning duties, including all equipment and machines;
- basic cooking of food, preparing and making salads, sandwiches etc;
- serving from the counter;
- ability to work on own initiative manning our sixth form coffee shop if required;
- being responsible for temperatures of food, fridges, freezers;
- checking orders;
- handling money from cash machines;
- making sure stock is in rotation;
- filling vending machines;
MIDDAY DUTIES
- setting out of tables for lunch and then putting them away at the end of service;
- preparing and setting out water jugs and cups ready for students;
- supervise the students in the queue and manage them as they move around the diner;
- ensure the tables are kept clear and clean;
- sweeping the dining areas at the end of service;
- support and monitor students during lunch services;
In addition:
to attend any training activities and/or meetings as required; and abiding by all COSHH regulations and follow all health and safety rules and regulations
to maintain a high standard of personal and general cleanliness and hygiene to comply with statutory and school regulations.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
Ability to work well within a team
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Willingness to undertake any appropriate training
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
Previous experience of working in a large kitchen
Knowledge of COSHH regulations
Basic Hygiene Certificate
Knowledge of health and safety regulations surrounding working in a kitchen
LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT
term contract initially until 31st August 2024
Scale 3, Point 5 Actual salary £14,018 (pay award pending)
Hours are 28.75 per week, Monday to Friday, 8.45am - 3.30pm

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Learning Support Assistant to join our team of staff in our SEND department. You will be required to support students in years 7 – 13 with a variety of additional and specific needs across the whole curriculum. You will require a good general education, patience, the ability to foster good relationships with young people and be able to work within a fast paced and dynamic team.

TEACHER OF COMPUTER SCIENCE
(full or part time considered)

We have an exciting opportunity for an excellent teacher to join our highly committed, supportive and experienced Computer Science and ICT Department. This post is suitable for experienced practitioners or ECT’s. The successful candidate will be expected to teach at both KS3 and KS4 and there may be an opportunity to teach at KS5 for a suitably qualified candidate. The ability to teach Economics would be an advantage. Staff morale is high at our school; we have an excellent induction programme and a commitment to professional development for all staff. All teaching staff are provided with a laptop.
Our Computer Science and ICT Department is well resourced and you will have access to a range of exciting cross curricular activities. Train to Teach
Great Baddow High School is looking to recruit graduates for our highly successful Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programme.
Working with other local Essex schools, candidates will receive excellent training from experienced staff working in association with local training providers.
Applicants must be focused to raise pupil achievement, work as part of a team and have a clear enthusiasm for their subject area.
