Admissions - Sixth Form 2023
Thank you for considering Great Baddow High School Sixth Form.
Our Sixth Form Open Evening took place on Thursday 20th October 2022 to provide students with the opportunity to find out about the courses available, meet current Sixth Form students and discuss options with some of our specialist teachers.
If you were unable to attend our Open Evening, we would recommend you look through the Great Baddow High School Sixth Form Brochure, the Sixth Form Course Guide and watch the Virtual Tour below, to provide you with an insight to life in the Sixth Form and to hear from our Headteacher, Paul Farmer.

Academic Study
All students will have the opportunity to study either A Levels, vocational courses or a combination of both. We have three pathway opportunities open to students. The pathway they can chose will be based on their 'Best 8 score of GCSEs'. If a student has not passed GCSE Maths or English, they will be required to resit this when they join the sixth form.
Pathway One 57 points or above |
Students can take 4 A Levels or can take 3 A Levels and also the EPQ (Extended Project Qualification). Students can also access any of the vocational qualifications. |
Pathway Two 40 points or above |
Students can take 3 A Levels or any of our vocational qualifications. If students have scored between 40 and 43 points we may recommend a combination of A level and Vocational courses. |
Pathway Three 36 points or above |
Students can access our vocational courses. |
For A Levels, we recommend a minimum of a Grade 6 if you have taken a GCSE in that subject. For some subjects, e.g. Chemistry and Physics, a Grade 7 is required. For more details of the requirements needed for each subject, please see the course guide .
