Who directed Migrant Sea?
Migrant Sea was directed and produced by Stephane Grasso. The film is made up of video documentaries, immersive VR, photo documentaries, audio documentaries, articles, and essays, allowing audiences to “explore stories at their own pace.”
“As the creator of Migrant Sea, I’m committed to challenging the prevailing narrative on Sub-Saharan migration,” Grasso stated. “The primary aim of Migrant Sea is to rectify the underrepresentation of migrants by offering them a platform to share their voices, experiences, and stories. The project adopts an intimate, collaborative approach that ensures new, diverse perspectives, breaking away from the narrow lens that has dominated coverage of the issue so far and breaking through compassion fatigue.”
