Fargo and The White Lotus actor Lukas Gage has signed on to Smile 2, the follow-up to the surprise 2022 horror hit from Paramount.

Variety had the exclusive on the latest casting for the supernatural horror sequel.
Gage has just played a recurring role in season 5 of Fargo, and has also had standout stints on shows such as Euphoria, You, and Love, Victor. He’s also set to feature in Jake Gyllenhaal’s upcoming Road House remake. He recently starred opposite Zachary Quinto in the comedy movie Down Low.
The story of Smile concerns Dr. Rose Cotter (Sosie Bacon – Mare of Easttown), who starts experiencing frightening occurrences that she can’t explain after witnessing a bizarre, traumatic incident involving a patient. As an overwhelming terror begins taking over her life, Rose must confront her troubling past in order to survive and escape her horrifying new reality.
Smile was the feature-length directorial debut of Parker Finn. It starred Kyle Gallner (Scream, Jennifer’s Body), Caitlin Stasey (All Cheerleaders Must Die), Kal Penn (Supeman Returns), and Judy Reyes (Birth/Rebirth).
The first film had initially been meant for the Paramount Plus streaming service, but Paramount switched up to a theatrical release and saw the movie pull in an impressive $217 million at the box office.
Smile 2 will see Parker Finn return to direct and recently added Aladdin star Naomi Scott to the cast.
Smile 2 is set to hit theaters on October 18, 2024.
