The highly anticipated modern workplace C-drama Our Interpreter, starring Victoria Song and Chen Xingxu, aired its episodes 6 and 7. The episodes aired on January 9, 2024.
The drama follows ex-lovers Lin Xi (Victoria Song) and Xiao Yi Cheng (Chen Xingxu). The two find a second chance at love after meeting each other in a professional setting eight years after the breakup. Lin Xi is a successful interpreter, while Yi Cheng is the technology officer of a communications company. When the two companies they are working for land a deal, they have no choice but to face each other. Initially, they are hesitant about meeting, but as the drama progresses, audiences can see that they are drawn towards one another.
Episode 6 begins with Wei Tian (Wang Sen) getting a phone call about drunk Lin Xi. As he is with Yi Cheng, they go together to get Lin Xi. Drunk Lin Xi introduces Yi Cheng to Mr. Sun Youwei, CEO of Jingge, as her ex-boyfriend. She also asks Mr. Sun to invest in his company. Afterward, Yi Cheng drives Lin Xi to her home. Viewers also get to witness another brewing love story between Shasha and Mr. Wei.
After Lin Xi reaches home, Cheng Yao (Fei Qi Ming) greets her. Cheng, who is a freelance interpreter, is a new recruit in Lin’s company. He is there to stay with Lin’s family as their grandmothers are childhood friends. It is quite evident that Cheng is interested in Lin Xi.
Meanwhile, after facing minor setbacks, Yi Cheng’s company almost loses the deal with Jingge. But, he quickly resolves the problem, and Mr. Sun revives the deal. From his conversation with his friend, it is also clear that he wants to get close to Lin Xi but doesn’t know how to proceed.
Our Interpreter Ep 6-7: Victoria Song & Chen Xingxu resolve issues
In previous episodes, viewers saw that Lin Xi had mistaken Peter, who is Yi Cheng’s friend Tong Xin’s son and his godson, as his actual son. Because of this, Lin Xi now thinks that Yi Cheng is a married man with a son and wants to maintain her distance. Tong Xin takes the matter into her own hands and invites Lin Xi to go out with her. When she arrives at the place, she sees that it’s a robotics camp. She goes back to the time Yi Cheng had won the national robotics championship and credited her for being his biggest inspiration. After she arrives at the venue, she sees that Yi Cheng and Peter are also present there. She again misunderstands and thinks that Yi Cheng and Tong Xin are a couple. Tong Xin leaves the venue, leaving others behind. Lin and Yi Cheng participate in various activities with Peter and start to bond.
After Lin hurts her ankle, Yi Cheng takes her back to his place. There, Tong Xin clears all misunderstandings and comes clean. Xin reveals that she and Yi Cheng are nothing more than business partners and friends. Also, she clarifies that Peter is her son and Yi Cheng’s godson. Afterward, Lin Xi and Yi Cheng get lunch together and reminisce about their past. Has romance started to bloom between these two past lovers?
