The Mandalorian & Grogu Movie Cast: Will Pedro Pascal Return as Din Djarin?

The Mandalorian & Grogu movie was announced recently, leaving fans wondering whether Pedro Pascal will be back as the iconic character Din Djarin. Doubts about his return in The Mandalorian Season 4 were raised due to the reported behind-the-scenes troubles across the last two seasons. With Season 4 likely being turned into a film, the same question needs to be answered. So, here’s all you need to know about his potential return.

Is Pedro Pascal returning to join The Mandalorian & Grogu movie cast?

While it hasn’t been officially confirmed, Pedro Pascal is expected to return as Din Djarin in The Mandalorian & Grogu, though the extent of his physical performance as the character is still in question.

While StarWars.com confirmed that The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau will also helm the upcoming movie, Pedro Pascal’s comeback wasn’t officially announced. After the rumors surrounding his behind-the-scenes conflicts over wearing the Mandalorian helmet for months of Season 2’s filming, he mostly took on a “voice only” role in Season 3.

The same was expected to happen in a potential Season 4. But now that a feature film has been announced in place of it, we could expect the Chilean-American actor to continue playing Din Djarin in the same way as Season 3. After all, Din Djarin reclaimed his Mandalorian title in Season 3. So, it wouldn’t make sense for him to return to being helmetless throughout his upcoming movie.

Since Pascal is also high in demand, Disney won’t likely replace him as the title character. That could lead to backlash from the fans. So, a safe bet would be to presume that Pascal will return, but in a less physical way.

If a shot without his helmet is needed, Pascal could show up on the set for a day or two to film it. For the rest of the film, his involvement could be limited. However, this has neither been confirmed nor denied by Disney at this time.

The Mandalorian & Grogu is confirmed to be shot later in 2024. Pascal will likely be involved in multiple other upcoming projects including Gladiator 2, The Last of Us Season 2, and maybe even Fantastic Four throughout 2024 — so Pascal will be mightily busy this year.
