Jinder Mahal, aka ‘The Modern Day Maharaja,’ threw down the gauntlet to none other than ‘The People’s Champion,’ The Rock.
WWE had initially teased the return of a former WWE champion leading up to the event. The anticipation was high for the show, as Triple H has also hinted at the return of a former WWE champion, only to have Jinder Mahal make a surprising appearance, drawing boos from the audience in the arena.
Mahal wasted no time addressing the fans in the arena. He proceeded to slam the United States, delivering a scathing promo on the current state of the US. In his critique, he portrayed the nation as divided, ignorant, and influenced by misinformation on social media. However, the atmosphere quickly shifted when The Rock made an unexpected return, sending the crowd into a frenzy.
The Rock, true to his charismatic style, shut down Mahal on the mic. This led to a physical altercation with ‘The Modern Day Maharaja,’ where the Great One showcased his signature move, the iconic People’s Elbow
Despite The Rock getting the upper hand on Mahal, he remained undeterred, praising himself in a subsequent interview with WWE Super Dhamaal. In a bold move, he took the opportunity to challenge The Rock to a future bout in India, stating:
“I want to issue a challenge to The Rock. Anytime in India, you can step into the ring with The Modern Day Maharaja,” he said.
It will be interesting to see whether the People’s Champion will give a response to The Modern Day Maharaja.
