Like Flowers in Sand Episode 6 begins with Yu-Gyeong/Du-Sik asking Jang Dong-Yoon’s Baek-Du if he likes her. He annoyingly says no and the two get back to their usual banter. Meanwhile, Lee Joo-Myoung’s Hyeon-Uk finds out that Du-Sik is a woman and is Baek-Du’s first love.

Hyeon-Uk connects the dots and confronts Yu-Gyeong. The latter is left in shock and becomes speechless. He insists on knowing the truth about Du-Sik’s past, but she doesn’t reveal anything. However, Hyeon-Uk doesn’t share one thing, which is that she was Baek-Du’s first love.

Meanwhile, Baek-Du and Yu-Gyeong seem to grow closer in Like Flowers in Sand episode 6. While he helps her in keeping her identity secret, her heart flutters when he comes closer to her. Their feelings for each other become visible after Baek-Du gets jealous of Hyeon-Uk calling her “Honey!” On the other hand, she teaches him to not be a pushover.

Hyeon-Uk is not the only one who gets suspicious of Yu-Gyeong’s identity. Ssireum wrestling team’s head coach Park Dong-Chan tells Baek-Du’s father Kim Tae-Baek that he finds something odd about Yu-Gyeong (Lee Joo-Myoung). He explains that he thinks she belongs to a wrestler’s family as she knows a lot about ssireum.

Like Flowers in Sand Episode 6 hints at her childhood controversy being related to Baek-Du’s father. Hyeon-Uk points out that he did research on Du-Sik and found out that her father was ssireum’s head coach and was charged with the murder of a wrestler in a match-fixing case. Hence, Du-Sik left her hometown in the fourth grade and became Yu-Gyeong.

Aside from Yu-Gyeong’s identity crisis, Like Flowers in Sand Episode 6 also shows Baek-Du (Jang Dong-Yoon) taking a stand for himself. His character is portrayed as a kind and a bit pushover person. But Yu-Gyeong helps him to change that.

In the latest episode of Like Flowers in Sand, ssireum team’s coach Kwak Jin-Su (Lee Jae-Joon) decides to not let Baek-Du participate in the next wrestling match. Although the latter is frustrated, he doesn’t fight back. Yu-Gyeong yells at him for accepting the coach’s treatment towards him.

Meanwhile, Jin-Su tells Joo Mi-Ran the reason why he didn’t add Baek-Du’s name to the players’ list. He explains that Baek-Du is the best wrestler they have but he doesn’t know to use his skills properly. Like Flowers in Sand Episode 6 ending shows Jang Dong-Yoon’s character running all over the town looking for Jin-Su.

When he finds the coach, he confesses his love for ssireum and that he wants to play the next match. The K-drama episode ends with Baek-Du saying, “I have to compete in this match!”
