The first games coming to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate during January 2024 have been revealed as we enter into the new year. Due to the small number of new releases over the next couple of weeks, the list consists of older games, including some that are returning to the service for another stint.
Here are the Xbox Game Pass January 2024 Wave 1 games
The first wave of games coming to Game Pass in 2024 begins today, January 3, with the addition of Close to the Sun. There are then a further seven games being added over the next couple of weeks, including Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and the return of Compulsion Games’ We Happy Few. The full list includes:
- Close to the Sun (Console, PC, and Cloud) – January 3
- Hell Let Loose (Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Cloud) – January 4
- Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (Console, PC, and Cloud) – January 9
- Figment (Console, PC, and Cloud) – January 9
- Super Mega Baseball 4 (Console, PC, and Cloud) – January 11
- We Happy Few (Console, PC, and Cloud) – January 11
- Resident Evil 2 (Console, PC, and Cloud) – January 16
- Those Who Remain (Console, PC, and Cloud) – January 16
As well as the new games, there’s also a brand new Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Perk. The Sea of Thieves: Nightshine Parrot Pack includes the Nightshine Parrot Jacket, Nightshine Parrot Sails, Nightshine Parrot Figurehead, Nightshine Parrot Hat, Nightshine Parrot Cutlass, and 10,000 Gold.
Finally, along with the good news comes the bad as there is a list of games that will be leaving Xbox Game Pass shortly. Microsoft confirmed that Grand Theft Auto V will be leaving Game Pass early on January 5. After that, four games are leaving on January 15:

- MotoGP 22 (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Persona 4 Golden (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Persona 3 Portable (Cloud, Console, and PC)
