The Golden Bachelor Marriage Ceremony to Air Live on ABC Next Month

The Golden Bachelor himself, Gerry Turner, will be getting married on live television, as was revealed during yesterday’s season finale of the dating series.

The Golden Bachelor’s finale showed Turner becoming engaged to Theresa Nist while in Costa Rica. It was then revealed that the engaged couple will be getting married on Thursday, January 4 at 8 p.m. in a special ceremony that will air live on ABC titled The Golden Wedding.

This wedding will serve as the first aired wedding from The Bachelor since 2014, making for a nearly decade-long gap between televised ceremonies from the franchise.

“We are going to get married,” Turner said (via The Hollywood Reporter). “We’re going to do it as quickly as we can because, at our age, we don’t have a lot of time to waste. As quickly as we can put together a wedding plan, we’re getting married.”

What is The Golden Bachelor?
